Project Revision :

The Project Revision assignment is a chance for students to improve upon a previous project. This may take one of two forms: Either a student will choose to create a new project following the steps for that particular project or rework/revise that project from its current state. Either way the assignment is the same, to improve a former work of art. (Note: only projects from the current semester may be revised)

For successful completion of this assignment you must follow each step very carefully to ensure that all of the files are submitted correctly. Each file name and file type is very important as it is a key component of this course that has been given plenty of opportunity for practice.

  1. Make a copy of the original file you submitted to your turn-in folder for this assignment.
    1. find the file in the folder for whichever project you intend to revise. It should be named "<YourName>_<ProjectName>_<Title(or)Final>.jpg"
    2. Make a copy of that file
    3. Move the file to your "Project Revision" folder.
  2. Complete a Revision Proposal for the assignment that you intend to revise. Be sure to indicate which project it is if you did not include a title in the original file.
  3. Using Google Drive or another .PDF Scanner App, create a .PDF of the Revision Proposal and upload it to your "Project Revision" folder.
  4. Rename the file to, "<YourName>_ProjectRevision_RevisionProposal"
  5. Review the "Grading Rubric" for the project you've chosen and target specific qualities that you think would make the greatest improvement in your work and the resulting grade.
  6. Create a google doc in your "Project Revision" folder and list your intended improvements based on the grading the rubric for that assignment. This should be between 250 and 500 words long and focus on what changes you plan to make and what you expect it to improve on the project.
  7. Rename the file to, "<YourName>_<ProjectName>_IntendedRevisions"
  8. Complete the work on your project to the best of your ability that you wrote about in the google doc.
  9. Properly photograph your finished work of art.
    1. You may need to adjust your setting on your camera to get the best photo. Many resources exist for this online so please, do not hesitate to look it up.
  10. Upload your file to your "Project Revision" folder in your turn-in folder on google drive.
  11. Rename this file to, "<YourName>_ProjectRevision_<OriginalProject>.JPG. NOTE-Ensure that the file you have now labeled is a .JPG, or JPEG, not a .PDF!

The Objectives:

Through this project students will attempt to show a strong understanding of the skills listed:

  1. File Management-Students must ensure files are correctly named and are of the correct file type.
  2. Focused Reflection- Students must critically analyze previous work to identify areas for improvement.
  3. Focused Revision- Students must focus on the specific learning goals of the project chosen to be improved and execute them in a revised project.
